why the primary care doctor?
I Just Recently Got Insurance and This Will Be My First Time Going To My Primary Care Doctor On February 2nd...I Want Gastric Bypass Surgery AND My Insurance Will Pay For It If My Primary Care Doctor finds It Medically needed. ..which I know he will...but since this is my first time going I don't have a medical history of weightloss intervention etc that they need...how can I go around this?....I weigh 390...have high blood pressure and I am ready
I can barely read your text, but what I can gather... your doctor will say it's medically needed then the surgeon will put you through a weight loss program so you meet your requirements for insurance. There's no real way around it... it's good because it prepares you for life after surgery.
Yeah same here I can barely read the text you choose. If you change it you may have more responses. Many insurances want to see a history of weight issues. This would mean weigh ins at a doctor over the years and what interventions you did with them. If this i required not really sure there is any way around it.
You may be able too and if you have a high enough BMI and enough health issues. I would say call your insurance company and talk to them. Do they have case managers at the insurance company? Some do and they can help you with this.
Yeah that is a high enough BMI that you may be more available for help. Is this through an employer or is it a managed medicaid plan?
Ahh ok perfect then you most likely should have a case manager attached to this. Check your social services office and ask if they can help you navigate what steps you need to take.
