Gout, post op

ive read a few articles about developing gout after rny. Anyone experienced this? 

My husband has had several gout flare-ups since his surgery...but he had them prior to surgery so it's not a huge surprise.   

I have had my first flare up with gout starting three days ago in one foot and now is in the big toe of my other foot. I thought I had sprained my ankle the first day or two, then the pain moved to the top and other side of that foot and in the left toe of my other foot, and we have discovered it must be gout. I am heading to the doctor tomorrow. I am 6 weeks out from RNY surgery. I am increasing my water today to see if that helps relieve some of the pain.
