Great post to follow I start my diet Thursday. I am not looking forward to the two weeks on the liquid so I'll try all the different flavored broths

I just used Herbox. It's in a green box in the bouillon section. It's great. They use it in the hospital and it has a great taste. I use the full sodium kind.

I saw your post on your blog talking about bone broth and that is what I was actually trying to find. I have not been able to find them around where I live in NC. I'm going to check out Whole Foods today. I did find the regular Pacific Chicken broth in the mini boxes that have 6 grams of protein. I will try those for now.

I was in the same boat....and I hated broth....so I asked the dr and he said not a problem......  I took regular soups..... he said no cream of soups......cooked them and ran them through a strainer....... it was great.....

Also, and people thought I was crazy... I am but

thats another Springer Show..... I love black eyed peas..... so I would cook them, strain them...eat the juice,,,,and put the peas in a freezer bag to use for stews and chilis later when I could....and I can....and it worked...

Once your done with surgery and can eat again.   Try Quest bars,,, 20g protien only 4 net carbs,,,,,, also the Drinks you can have now........look for Bai5  If you dont find them in stores I buy mine in cases through Amazon.   Anyway I drink some but I also freeze them... drink a little past the neck of the bottle so it wont freeze in there and stop it up...anyway, I freeze them to almost solid then bang the bottle on the edge of the counter top and it makes a wonderful dessert slushy..... They have a Lemon one that was only on Amazon and it taste just like a Frozen lemonaide.  The Clementine is also amazing......they have about 8 flavors...... or go to drinkbai5.com

Just some things I did......

Here is a great recipe I use

Homemade Vegetable Broth

Ingredients:
  • 2 medium yellow onions, sliced
  • 3 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, halved
  • 1 medium potato, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons whole black peppercorns
  • 4 sprigs parsley
Method:

Place all ingredients and 1 gallon water in a large pot. Bring to a boil over
high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook 2 hours, then strain and discard solids.
Strain once more through a fine mesh sieve. Cool and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Stir before using if broth separates.

Makes 8 cups

If you can find beef or chicken stock rather than broth, it will have more flavor and more protein...
