ok then, I don't want that, will get the iron tabs but they make you constipated.

I use carbonyl iron, which usually doesn't cause constipation.  Ferrous sulfate usually does make you constipated, and the other iron salts like ferrous fumerate and ferrous gluconate often do, too.  But carbonyl is all elemental iron, no iron salts in there to cause constipation.  Plus, it's absorbed well without  much stomach acid.

I had Gastric Bypass 07/20/2010 and lost 180#, last year I also needed an iron infusion.  I have learned so many things with this.  Elemental Iron supplement is needed at ~ 27-28 mg a day.  You have to take this with a buffered Vitamin C.  You cannot take the Iron with any Calcium at all.  It cost me over 1200.00 for my Iron infusion and a day off work.  It would of been much cheaper to get the better vitamins and keep my ferritin level above 50.

Good Luck to you, once I had my infusion I felt so much better the next day and lost another 16 pounds in the 2 weeks after my infusion.

Most people need a lot more iron than 27-28 mg.  The ASMBS recommends 54-63 mg for menstruating women and 36 mg for everyone else, but many people do need more - I am currently taking 300 mg elemental iron a day.

You CAN take iron with small amounts of calcium less than 200 mg or so.

I was taking iron...a lot of it. And o was in pain from it every day. I still ended up needing infusions. It sucks.  but i rather pay for it and feel good than not have enough iron and feel horrible..

I had iron infusions 3 times so far. (7 years post op) ...and i am not menstruating....
