Iron- Lessons Learned Now Iron Infusions
I am 9 years out from my RNY and have gotton so lack with my iron. I just had my lab work come back with a Ferrin level cam back at 5 th normal range is 22-291 ng/mL. My Doc is strongly recommending that I go on Iron transfusions immediately. I am so upset with myself that I have failed to keep up with my iron supplements. Just a freindly reminder for all you years out, our bodies are forever changed. Don't do what i did
It is a reminder that any WLS'er needs.
Now that you've had this happen, you can move forward and make sure that you keep up with your supplements so you don't have more issues.

I would bet money that you will need more iron than what is in the multi.

Yep, that's iron infusion low. I'd get infusions ASAP. And then I'd start keeping up with my iron supplements.

Iron is important because you need iron in your blood in order to transport oxygen to all your organs, including your heart and your brain. An iron infusion is iron given through an IV.
