Menu Ideas - Going back to work!

Hello:  I am 6 weeks out of the Gastric Sleeve.  I have lost almost 30lbs and that is great.   What I am encountering is that I am not hungry and I don't have the motivation to eat.  I have to get some ideas to plan for my first week back to work.   I have a rough week, got shingles and still recovering.   I want to continue my momentum of losing weight, but I feel lost in the food department.   Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I understand how you feel. I was the same. I took ff refried beans with some cheese and plain Greek yogurt on them. You could put some salsa on them. I make turkey taco meat and either make a lettuce shell or none at all. Top with cheese and Greek yogurt.  Makes several yummy meals!  I also took other soft foods until I knew I wouldn't get sick. I always have protein shakes at work.  I took tuna, chicken salad, whatever you eat at home and is easy to pack. Crystal Light is my new best friend.  I went back at 2 weeks PO, so you may have more food choices you can tolerate. When all else fails, protein shake! If you're on Pinterest, there are a lot of good ideas/tips there. Good luck!  I think you'll feel better when you get back to your routine and become more active.

I didn't feel like eating for nearly 9 months.  Without the grehlin, my body and I had to come up with new signals that I need to eat, but nothing was particularly appealing, so it was frustrating.  I just had to get it in my mind that I am eating to nourish myself - nothing more - and I just removed pleasurable eating out of the equation.  I eventually did enjoy eating again but it really took some time.

Oh man, shingles suck!  I had them about 15 years ago and just wanted to curl up in a ball and die

I looked back at MFP to see what I was eating at 1 month out.  Here are some snack/meal ideas (I was pretty boring):  thin sliced deli meat, string cheese, leftover soft fish, hard boiled eggs, Isopure Zero Carb water; canned chicken w/a little mayo; greek yogurt

I'm big on cooking something in the crockpot, portioning it out, freezing it and bringing it into work for lunch.  Afternoon snack is Greek yogurt.
