How long after Sleeve surgery can you resume taking your meds by mouth without crushing them.  All my meds are ER so crushing is not recommended.  I cant afford to replace them all when I have meds & its too early for refills

I started right after passing my leak test. I won't crush them.

All of the surgeons where I work part-time allow VSGers to have pills again even while in the hospital.  Since you have your natural pyloric valve instead of an artificial stoma like RNYers, there really isn't an issue with swelling as there is with RNY.

FWIW, they also don't EVER require crushing for RNYers. Just avoiding or cutting in half pills larger than an M&MS for the first two weeks.

Do it slow and careful - and you can manage.
