You will probably want lip balm, your own robe, socks, easy to get into clothes for the trip home.

That means, slip on shoes or slippers, baggy sweats and a large shirt that buttone or zips so you don't have to raise your arms above your head (in case that is uncomfortable the first few days).

You might want an iPod if you think you can secure it while you are sleeping or walking around.

For the ride home, it helps to have a pillow to hug to your body ... Eases the little road bumps.

Best of luck!!!

The most important thing I brought was my phone (supportive texts gave comfort) -- and lip balm.  Also bring a toothbrush and toothpaste.  The hospital gave me toiletry items, but it was crappy toothpast.  I wanted my regular brand for comfort.  I never used my iPad, but my husband used his the whole time.  I was out of it so he needed something to do.  The hospital gave me non-slip socks that were pretty comfy.  They also had robes so I never got mine out of my overnight bag (but the robe they gave me had flowers or amoebas or something on it -- but I forgot to care most of the time I was there.)  Don't bother with PJs (which my doctor told me to bring).  I didn't even need to bring my regular medications because the hospital took care of all that based on my intake interview with them.

I wish you lots of luck!  I'm only 8 days post-op, but I've already cleared the "what the hell did I do to myself??" stage.  It took 4-5 days, tho...  The rough part is only temporary!

The only thing you need is lip balm and face moisturizer!  I went home in the clothes I came in, used my phone for Internet if I could stay awake long enough, and wore hospital gowns as they were much more convenient.  Hospital will provide everything you need.
