I am planning to compete in a triathlon almost a year after my surgery and have joined a tri club to help me prepare. Does anyone have advice specific to endurance racing after RNY surgery?

That's cool!

A while back I saw an article about a guy in the Huston area that does long distance bike riding.

Best luck finding the right balance of calories for the race & maintenance weight.

My goal is to walk in a 5k.

Good luck to you. Athletics only gets easier as the weight goes away.

There is a fitness and exercise board which is quite well used. Try the forums tab above.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
