Question about food

Is Wendy's chili a relatively good thing? I know it has beans in it but not sure if that matters. Any opinions?

I was always able to make it fit into my carb and protein goals (the small one w/cheese, no crackers).  However, it invariably created acid issues for me (most things tomato-based do) so I wouldn't choose to eat it now.

I suppose it depends on what your nutritional needs are.

Per the Wendy's website, a small serving is roughly 1 cup. That 1 cup contains 170 calories 16 g of carbs, and 15 g of protein.

Say you can only eat 2 oz (1/4 cup) at this point in your journey. That would leave you with 4 g of carbs and roughly 3.75 grams of protein.

I'm only 3 weeks out but I wouldn't eat it as I can get in more protein from an egg or 2 oz of chicken than from 2 oz of that chili.....

if you add cheese it'll up the protein value -

single cheese topping is 19/15 -  double cheese topping is 24/15

Sure, by adding cheese you increase the protein by 4 grams... but youre still only eating 2 oz of the chili which would only render 4.75 grams of protein (1 cheese serving) and 5.75 grams (2 cheese servings.)

As someone else said, if there's nothing else to eat, sure, eat some chili... it's better than a lot of choices...

But personally, I'd rather get more protein and less carbs from something like chicken or seafood.

I like the chili as an option when traveling.  Sometimes I'll opt for cheese but I do skip the crackers.  The beans will add some fiber in addition to low-glycemic carbs, so all in all, it's not a bad option.

It's not an option I'd choose unless I was desperate and fast food was literally the only option.

It's not something I would eat on a regular basis, but I love Wendy's chilli and when I'm craving something yummy I'll get a small chilli (no cheese or crackers).  I can't eat it all in one sitting so I'll eat half and then eat the other half at another meal time or save it for the following day.  Because the protein value isn't that high I'll add an extra protein shake that day.

It is not something I would go out for, but it is better than a lot of other choices if you are out and about or on the road. I think it is a relatively good thing for eating out/fast food.

I've had it a few times. I prefer homemade and chili even for people that don't cook or like to cook is super easy... everything in the pot, let it cook, eat ;) but when you are out & about sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

I love beans... we need some fiber to you know... err go. I'd rather a little fiber from fruit, veggies and beans than some OTC med.
