I wouldn't even consider the Lapband as part of the commonly chosen surgeries anymore. Just to many complications over the long haul, I think your body never gets used to a foreign object, and as my surgeon says "1/3 of the people do really well, 1/3 lose a little but aren't happy and 1/3 lose nothing." Not good stats. My surgeon will do them but never recommends them. Unless you were talking bout the third being Duodenal Switch. I do know someone who gained some weight for her surgery at least 10 years ago,... don't know what the insurance requirements were back then. She has kept off 120 pounds since then so I know she doesn't regret it.
