Question-Gas build up?

Every once in a while (This morning being the latest) I get a very uncomfortable feeling around my chest, back and shoulders, it's like a tightening, pressuring pain and feels just like it did the first few days after surgery when experiencing the gas build up. When I went to my personal physician and told him he did not think it had anything to do with my heart or anything like that and it happens just every 3 or 4 weeks or so. Don't know if I am allergic to something. intolerant or what? What seems to help is when I drink a gulp of water and then walk around.  Usually it is only 5-10 mins and only very late at night or very early in the morning while I am laying in bed. This morning it was the worse I've had it and lasted about 25 mins, and it actually happened while I was getting ready for work and helping my 7 year old with his homework? . Does gas continue to build up in us with the gastric sleeve? Has anyone else experienced this? Would appreciate any thoughts, help, thanks!

Are you still taking a PPI?

Sounds like it could be acid reflux as it can often contribute to chest pain/gas feelings.

This happens to me in the morning too, especially after I've been sleeping on my stomach and laying flat.  One tums usually takes care of it.  It sounds like heartburn/acid.

Yep, that is when it happens. Guess I'll get some Prilosec, tums or something.

A couple of support group members had this too.  One of them even went to the ER.  It turned out for both of them to be acid reflex and take Prilosec and are fine.

If you get Prilosec (or something like it) and it still doesn't go away, I'd talk to your doctor to make sure.

this same feeling and even pain going up my neck and into my jaws and ears,is acid reflux for me also. Many sleevers have to take a PPI for a while and some like me,forever.

i would go back inthe PPI and see if it improves then you will have your answer.
