My fitness pal
Two things.. I can't ever complete my entry because it says I'm not eating enough calories. How do I fix this
Number two .. The amount of protein in my meats and eggs my book says from surgery does not match my fitness pal. My book says 1 oz meat = 7 G protein. My fitness pal says all different things. So on my fitness pal im under for my protein everyday. In real life I am at my goal.

I also can never complete my entry on MFP. There really isn't anything you can do about it unless you add fake calories and just add the same amount every day so you know how many you actually have. I don't see the point in this though because the 5 week estimated weight loss won't be accurate anyway.
As far as the protein goes I tend to go by whatever MFP says according to the right brand, cook style, and weight. If it's slightly under I'll eat a string cheese or some tuna. It certainly doesn't hurt to go over your protein goal.
I'm not sure what you mean by "can't complete" it -- mine will routinely say that I'm under-eating when I hit "complete" but all the details are still there. It doesn't go away. I don't worry about that piece.
As for number of protein grams, whatever book you're looking at is being very generic. Protein amounts will vary widely depending on your protein choices. Fish and shellfish tend to have higher protein amounts that other things (which is why I love it!). Go with the numbers in MFP.
MFP always give that message due to the low amount of calories you're eating. You can't fix it. Ignore it.
Are you sure you're adjusting for the quantities of meat you're eating? If your protein is a conglomeration of something other than pure "meat," the numbers could vary. Could you give us an example of the inconsistency?
Also keep in mind that a lot of the data in MFP is provided by members and isn't always accurate. One way to verify it is to log on via your computer, not your phone, and see if there have been confirmations by multiple members.
I'm pretty OCD on tracking, so I tend to verify everything before I trust the options that MFP offers.

I've been scanning everything that I put into MFP. Even when i buy chop meat i'll scan it and I go by whatever it says per serving. After that its just weighing and measuring everything. I haven't had anything yet that didn't scan into the app. I'd rather go by whats on the package than what some other app or website says.
