I see my dietician for the second time on Jan 28th. I am afraid I havent lost enough weight. How much weight did you lose before your third and final dietician appt before surgery?I have lost only 14lbs since my first appt on dec 31.

Hi Heather,

I am so glad back in the day when I had surgery they didn't have all these prove you can lose requirements.  Hello, if we can lose it on our own we would not need surgery.  Write down everything that goes in your mouth and this may help you identify where you can make changes.  Don't stress until you talk to your dietician, have a clear understanding what they are expecting of you when you leave.

We wish you luck and please let us know how it goes!

14lbs since Dec 31st is 2lbs a week WITHOUT SURGERY.  Sounds good to me! People on diets are usually happy with 2lbs a week! Point that out if your doctor says it's not enough!!

Edited to add, just realised it is only 3 weeks, no doctor can possibly have exoected you to lose more than 4lbs a week.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I must be mathematically challenged, I still make it 14lbs in 7 weeks = 2lbs a week.

I only lost 15 pounds in 9 months of supervised weight loss appointments... (I am not proud of that fact...)  and gained them back plus 2 having food funerals before starting the pre-op diet of 4 shakes per day.

I lost 18 in the two week pre-op diet.

I have lost 175 lbs total in 12 months starting from the pre-op diet.

I didn't lose anything in mine, despite tracking my foods. I may have lost a pound or two. The nutritionalist said it happens and signed off on me having the surgery anyway. You've lost a lot of weight in 3 weeks, I'm sure you will be fine.

Hi, I just had gastric bypass last month. I didn't have to loose any weight. Perhaps it is insurance requirements. I have Blue Cross and I live in California. Good for you for loosing 14 pounds. Thats awesome.

Robin
