I had my surgery on Thursday January 16th. Immediately in the hospital I knew what I was thankful for - thigh muscles! My 6th month program was completed in October, but I had multiple bumps in the road that were not in my control.
I spent my waiting time concentrating on strengthening my thighs both for this surgery & my upcoming knee repair.
And Wow-wee! Getting from the stretcher to the toilet to the bed would have been astronomically harder if I had not learned to isolate the thigh muscles for maneuvering. And honestly - that was rough!!
Now 4 days post op my tummy is still painful at times & very weak, I have a specific way to get in & out of chairs & the low sitting toilet.
So that's what I am thankful for & wanted to share.
