My 600 pound life - Penny update tonite.

What an inspiration Tara is. I cried happy tears when I saw her follow-up. She really is a WLS success.

You can see that Penny isn't used to hard work. Excuses for everything and the entitlement attitude she carries is disheartening. What bothers me the most about Penny is that she has been given so many opportunities to turn things around and still lays in that bed. Every resources she has been given she manipulates. I think everyone has a chance to make changes but unfortunately she isn't ready. I don't think she'd be ready even if her husband left and took their son.

That husband is ridiculous. Where are his balls??  His manhood is long gone. Who wants to wipe some woman's poopy ass all day every day while she sits, just sits there. It's not because he "loves" her, it's because he has zero self respect- although I will say he seems to be getting at least a little disgusted by her bs. I'd have given up on her when she gave up on herself. The husband needs to get out, get a job, and take that boy with him. The poor kid need SOME KIND of role model.

Ugh, Penny just plain ****** me off. She's got more issues than "Life" magazine. I had a similar reaction to Penny. I think I can say most of us here did.

I am so glad to see Tara succeeding!!

I've watched every update episode. Christina's progress really blew me away. She was down to 239 at the end of her episode!! She looked like she'd never even been bed-ridden. It sucks that Penny could have been successful like the others, but has chosen to continue to play the victim.

I agree with all of you.......very sad.  There is so many people needing and wanting this help and she threw it all away.  I got up to 500 lbs once.  I had children and I held down a job so I had to get up and keep going.  It wasn't easy and I could have easily given up but I refused.  I did fight depression on a daily base and did not want to leave the house.  I sure did not want to go out in public because I was so ashamed of my appearance.  I tried for years to get the surgery....I was turned down time after time.  I can tell you one thing....as much as my husband and kids care for me....they would never allowed me to lay in bed all day and wipe my butt for me.  Her husband seems co-dependent and thrives on taking care of her.  He is the one that needs counseling.....learn to say no and tell her to get out of the bed and do for herself.  He is not doing her any favor!!!

When I finally got approved for the surgery.....my husband was happy for me.  I chose not to include him.....because it was my journey.  I did not even take him with me to the hospital.  This is something I wanted to do on my own.  He has been supportive and has never said anything negative (other than the bad gas...LOL).  He has not enabled me in anyway and I have not leaned heavy on him.  If I fail on this journey it is my fault and nobody elses.

I have no****ched the update on Penny and I am not trying to defend however what pissed me off during the original show was the lack treatment for her legs. She obviously has lymphedema as do many of the people on the show. They bark at her to walk more and make a big deal that she can barely stand...LOOK AT THOSE LEGS....how well could you walk or stand with legs like that? They could have gotten a compression pump, or had the PT who came to get her out of bed wrap them...anything something. The show completely ignores lymphedema, treatment for it needs to be done in combination with any weight loss efforts. Then the few times they do mention lymphedema they speak of it as a "thing" to remove...after she loses weight we'll remove the lymphedema..wrong...it's a condition not a thing.

They actually talked about Christina's lymphedema in the previous episode and showed her during compression treatment as well.  I liked that they addressed it!

That is good! Maybe they're finally coming around! Or maybe she was already in treatment.
