I am 6 years out and have been very sick with gallbladder removal, malnutrition and dehydration. I am also having trouble keeping my protein level up. Has this happened to anyone else? The doctors have told me they can not promise if the undo it things will be normal again. I am gaining now but still have been sick 😿

I am sorry you are having such a hard time but without more information, it is very difficult fir anyone to help you.

Which surgery you had is probably the most important question but also why were you dehydrated/malnourished? Do you find it hard to eat/drink? If your gallbladder has been removed, do you know what is causing the sickness?

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

There are so many ways to get protein in. What are you eating? Are you physically unable to add protein powder to you meals? Are unable to drink protein shakes? Can you eat yogurt, cheese, meats?

You've GOT to tell us more before we can help. Which form of WLS did you have? Can you post your vitamin schedule? Be very specific---what dosage, how many times a day, etc. How many grams of protein, fat, and carbs do you average each day? How many ounces of fluids? How recently did you have full labs, and what were your results?

Having WLS makes us forever 'not normal'. If your surgeon didn't give you adequate education, odds are good you haven't been taking care of yourself well. We WANt to help, but we need to know a LOT more before we can start.
