New device and meds to treat obesity
Pokemon, you have made a really good point. In Chilipepper's defense, she was referring to the "industry". I'm sure she realizes that not everyone who works IN the industry is out just for money. When I speak about the school district I work for, I constantly mention how "no one in this district cares about our kids". However, I know there are many out there, such as myself, who give their all to their students and profession. That being said, I totally see and understand the point you are making. Great comment!
I was approached last February about entering a clinical trial for the electronic hunger suppressor.
Could have been paid 1000 bucks a month plus related expenses.
But after carefully considering the program, I respectfully declined the offer.
Just didn't want to gamble with my health like that.
There is still surgery involved with it and foreign materials such as wires and contacts in my body, don't appeal to me.
Obviously, I did the right thing waiting for the vsg. Down over 100 lbs in three months is way above my expectations.
I'm all about the newest technologies when it comes to cars, computers, and TV, but not ready to trust a battery operated device to regulate my diet.
Hopefully it will be successful, studies are very inconclusive right now. More study is needed.
Very glad I didn't go through with it now. Vsg is the best decision I've ever made, skipping the clinical trial has to be a close second.
Good to have more options, for those of us that just can't do it with willpower alone.
I'll be watching the progress of this thing just out of sheer curiosity.

All I can say is after my experience with the lapband I won't trust FDA approval ever again. They believed everything the manufacturers told them and evidently didn't require much testing or proof. Messing with the vagus nerve with the band has caused serious permanent damage to lots of ex bandsters
