I'm sorry if this has already been posted or is not allowed. I'm considering weight loss surgery but i cannot find an insurance company in tx that will cover it and my credit isn't good enough for me to be approved for carecredit. Can someone give me an idea of an insurance company and plan that will cover it? Thanks in advance :-)

I don't know anything about you but I'm 65, on Medicare and United Health Care.  They are paying my surgery in full.  My BMI is over 35 and I have a qualifying factor.

Your employer may or may not offer bariatric coverage in their health insurance policies.  It's not a decision of the insurer, but the employer.

If you are on an employers plan, they may or may not cover WLS

if you are looking for an individual policy, I don't think they exist ....... There is nothing to prevent someone from signing on, getting 20 or 30 thousand dollars worth of surgery and then canceling the policy.

I believe that Home Depot and Starbucks are well known for I surname plans that cover WLS, even for part time employees.

It might be worth picking up a part time job for the coverage.
