Just thought it was odd that most of the reviews and profiles were created the same day and then no other activity.

Hey Chad -

I had my surgery with Dr. Alvarez back in October 2014, and  I can tell you from a personal standpoint that the reviews are accurate.  One reason there may be some reviews with no other activity is that he does send an email when you're a few weeks out asking you to leave a review if you'd like, both here and on Google+.  I've got to tell you, I was happy to do just that.  I've been active here since well before I decided to use him as my surgeon, so I have more than my review up.

I spent a lot of time deciding who to use.  I talked to Susan (Dr. Alvarez's scheduler) and she gave me the names and contact info (with their permission of course) of a dozen or so people in my region of the US (and a few in my town) who'd used Dr. A for their surgeries.  I talked with all of them, and they all had great things to say.  I even met up with a couple of them and asked them a TON of questions.  I actually heard of him initially through my cousin, who also had surgery with him last year.

There is a facebook group for Endobariatric as well that's very active, and includes a lot of people who've used Dr. A for their surgeries.  I've found him to be very responsive to questions and concerns post-op.  He promptly returns my calls/emails any time I contact him, and still sends follow-up emails to me every month or so.

I'd be more than happy to tell you about my experience if you're looking for a real-life patient to ask questions.
