Are Dr Guillermo Alvarez's reviews fake

i get the feeling that most of Dr Guillermo Alvarez's ( from Mexico) reviews are fake. All the profiles are created the same day as the review with no pics and no activity other than the review. Am I right?  I do not want to be taken for a ride. Please respond. I am looking for a surgen.

I can't speak about them but I had Wihelmy at the Mexicali Bariatric Center in Mexico and his reviews are real. They have a VERY good setup.

Your concern is a valid one.  I have heard over the years - especially for the docs outside of the US, that they actually pay and plant people to give reviews, but have not actually seen anyone pinpointed.  I've heard his name a lot lately, not sure if it's geniune or planted, though.  The only doc I would refer any DSers to in MX is Dr. Gilberto Ungson, though.

I can't speak to his reviews but he has been around as long as I have been on the board. He is a legit surgeon in MX. 

Alvarez has an excellent reputation. I have personally met many of his patients who are happy they used him. My sleeve friends are jealous of the people who used Alvarez because his patients seem to get to goal and stay there with little effort. If my insurance had not covered my surgery, he is the one I would have gone to.
