Revision

Does anyone know if BCBS PEEHIP (AL) will pay for a revision or second WLS? I had gastric bypass in 2002 and in the last 3 years I have gained 70 of the 125 pounds I originally lost. My surgeon had health issues and has closed his practice.

You need to check with your insurance. It is set up how your employer wants it. The other thing is that unless there is some kind of mechanical issue then most likely a revision will not be covered. You need to look at why this did not work. What will a revision change if it was due to bad habits? Your tool most likely is still working and if you go back to basics with lean protein and watch the carbs and don't drink with meals you most likely can get that weight off.

Like the samurai said you really have to check with your insurance & figure out why your wls didn't work for you, especially since you had a restrictive & malabsorption procedure. Some insurance will only cover 1 wls for a lifetime so you might have to pay for it out of pocket. Why not go to the back on track forum? Your tool might still work.

Hello colinjo27 I know it's been awhile seen your post and wanted to know how it going with you.. I'm in the same boat. BCBS of Alabama Just wanted to know if you received your revision? My surgeon's nurse told to me not to contact the insurance company.  I've started the process so. Hope to hear from ya.
