Wondering if anyone has had ins pay for thigh skin removal?
I was told that there are many factors that determine if insurance will pay. Unfortunately one of them is starting weight has to be extremely high around 500-600lbs. Difficulty with walking and continuous skin rashes in the folds are also factors. All have to be documented for a period of time. This was according to my Bariatric nurse.
I am 10 years out and I was approved for thigh skin and upper arm skin removal. It is quite funny because they would not approve the initial WLS. Insurance fought the thigh skin because they went to my knee, but doctor won that one. I still feel like my legs need to be covered, but it is better then the flapping skin.
