Hi everybody . I'm just writing because I tired everything to lose weight and it's not helping .. I broken my femur a few years back and now my weight is really affecting my leg and I'm starting to get really depressed . Is there anyway that I can find out how much the wait list is either for moncton or Bathurst for the gastric by pass surgery .

Have you talked with your primary care doctor about your weight? Rule out any health issues that might be causing the weight gain. Start there.

You'll want to ask him/her for a referral to a bariatric surgeon in your area. Call the surgeon's office you are thinking of checking out and find out when the next seminar is being held... most have seminars monthly (or more) where you can learn about the various weight loss surgery types and see which would be the best fit for you, ask Q's and all that.

Wait times may vary... some surgeons have requirements you must meet (certain clearances or tests, etc.) and then your insurance may have additional requirements. Your health status may require some test that might not be required by someone else.

I'd also ask for a referral to a therapist that can help you address any depression. Sounds like its situational but WLS is an emotional roller-coaster so why not build your support team right from the start.

Best wishes, Michelle "Shelly"
