Has anyone else not lost weight on pre-op diet?

I'd go with the 5 lbs too ;-). I agree, I'm not stressed about loss right now, I know it will come eventually.  I'm following the plan.  Good luck with your surgery!

My pre-op diet was a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, and a "diet" frozen meal for dinner.  This was for a week.  Then it was clear liquids for 48 hours before surgery.  I lost over 20 lbs before surgery.

Hope you get things figured out!

I think it depends on your starting weight, how you carry that weight and water retention. My surgery date is Jan 20 (one day before yours) and I started the pre-op diet a week ago. I was feeling really down because I've only lost 5 pounds so far but I actually feel better! :) And I've suffered from edema in my feet, legs and ankles for years and I can actually see the veins in my feet this week... Haven't seen them in years! So, I'll take that 5 pounds and be happy for now. Good luck with the rest of the pre-op and your surgery. We'll ride this out together in spirit. :)

I have noticed my ankles are down too!  Its a great feeling already.  I made my own soup instead of buying can and low and behold I was down 3 pounds this morning.  So I'm pretty confident retention is the problem.  I started the full liquid diet last Wednesday and am down a total of 6.5.  I'm sure I'll see more when I start clear liquids.  Good luck to you too, speedy recovery!
