Was it just me or was that a little rude? I was sincerely asking, looking for advice and support. Why the sarcasm? This will probably be my first and last post if this is the kind of stuff I should expect...

One vodka martini has abt 120 calories. Two of those daily on a post WLS reduced calorie diet, and you are looking at a stall square in the eyes at the very least and potential (probable) regain down the road. Not to mention transfer addiction which is common post WLS. You really never heard of alcohol causing weight gain? Or were you joking?

Thank you, Julia. I used to drink gallons of beer, but I thought since it wasn't beer, that the calories would be so much less. Yes, they are less, but I had NO IDEA that it was that many calories. Thank you, again, for your guidance and support!!

If you use an app like my fitness pal or even just google, you will be able to track the calories in almost everything you consume. And when in doubt, go without! My favourite aunt used to say that all the time.

for what its worth, and I hope even as you deactivated you will come by and look at your post at least, it is silly to leave and even sillier to be overly sensitive to what a bunch of strangers on the internet say. This WLS journey is something that will require you to grow a thicker skin whether on the forums or in real life. The very people who you think were sarcastic or unkind are a wealth of info on here and will be your greatest cheerleaders.

by leaving you are letting go of a very useful tool in your weight loss journey.

Thank you, Sweetie. I was really nervous and a bit apprehensive about posting anything. This subject is something that has been troubling me for several weeks. I just wanted some feedback. I must ask: Are people normally mean or rude? Maybe I'm overly sensitive or need a thicker skin. I just thought I would get some great advice - and i did! For instance, I learned how many calories are in Vodka alone. I really appreciate your support. I hope you are having a wonderful year so far XOXOX

You realize booze is empty calories?

Yes, but I didn't realize it was that much. I thought it was only about 10 calories in a shot of Vodka. I had no idea it was so much. That's why I posted. I was hoping for some insight and support without the sarcasm. My bad.

Oh, FFS! I WASN'T being sarcastic, so hop off the pity train. I was asking you a direct question.

Booze, all booze-champagne, vodka, scotch, beer-all empty calories. In addition to that, most of us find that we feel the effect much more quickly post op. As others have said, cross addiction is also a concern.

You might do well to avoid booze until you are in maintenance, then indulge sparingly.
