Thank you very much, everyone. Your kindness means a lot to me, and thank you for sharing your experiences. I just felt kind of like a drama queen for feeling like it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life (and I have been through some awful things!). I am glad I am not alone in that.

Everything I read online before I had it done had people saying, "You're out and it's over before you know it." I wasn't actually scared to go in at all. I am definitely going to talk to my surgeon and tell him it was very traumatic for me, explain what my expectations were, and ask him to explain everything to me in the future barring an emergency situation. I am pretty sure he is supposed to be explaining things to me before he does them anyway, and he didn't do that. I was concious and totally with it the entire time, and he did not say anything to me until it was over. He just kept telling the nurses he was almost done. I am going to tell him I have major concerns about being put out during the surgery and I am going to ask him how we can stop it from happening again. Hopefully, he is understanding and can clarify what happened.

Thankfully it happened on a Friday and I had the weekend to stew over it. My first thoughts when I woke up Saturday morning were very emotional and I don't know what I would've said had I talked to him right then. lol.

Thank you again!

I am also relieved to hear that one bad anesthesia experience doesn't mean they are all bad! That was my first one.
