Dark inner thighs- any experience?
Thanks all :) My dr has been up close in the area for regular checkups (Paps) and has never mentioned it, and when I had labs done last, everything was normal (no "pre"-diabetes/insulin resistance).
I think i'll see what the dermatologist has to say, and hey weight loss surely can't hurt the situation so looking forward to that too :)
FYI my glucose levels were always normal too! I remember when I was a kid my aunt told my Mom that I needed to be monitored for high blood sugar because of my very dark neck. I grew up super alert of becoming a diabetic 😱.
Well I had to examine my old spots in the mirror just now -hardly a trace! My inner thighs are still darker and have scarring - I used to burn baby burn lol.
I am positive you can get laser lightening. Just before the holidays Groupon sent me an email offering just this exact service. I was shocked.
Anyways all best
I had this problem years ago. As I lost weight, it went away. I tried lightening creams, but my skin was too sensitive for them. The darkening will diminish as you lose weight. Also, there's an oil free, non-greasy skin protectant gel/ointment manufactured by Monistat called 'chafing relief powder-gel'. That stuff is miracle in a tube. Lol hope this helps 😊
Google acanthosis nigricans. I have PCOS and this is a common symptom. Not saying you have PCOS, but the inner thighs is definitely a common area for this skin darkening to occur. Mine is at my inner thighs, back of the neck, armpits, and under the breasts. It has definitely lightened up after weight loss though!
Pre op I had the exact same issue and my 30 yr old daughter has it also pretty bad. She is 120 lbs overweight. After my weight loss it all went away. I never used any creams or anything. Lost weight is all, and it went away..
