So last week I posted that I was bummed because I had gained a pound rather than loosing.  The very next day I went down a pound and this week's weigh in has been down another EIGHT Pounds!!  YAY super stoked!

I am thinking of going to the local gym once I get down below 200 lb.  So happy with my recovery and the success so far.  Feeling truly blessed to have been able to get this surgery before my insurance changed.

@ Gewn M ... I am exercising daily on my recumbent bike for 35 min /7 miles & increasing resistance but I know when I start lifting I may gain a bit of weight.  However I do want to start defining my muscles along with my weight loss.  I just want to loose a bit more weight first which if things keep going as they have should only be another week to get below 200 LB.

If you haven't already, you should use this week to find a gym and a trainer!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I was not allowed to lift or use weighted machines at the gym until six weeks out.  But my surgeon said after the fact that he could have let me star****er aerobics at four weeks.  I used machines three times a week.  I did water aerobics three times a week with weights.  I and never gained weight from lifting.  I did develop nice firm muscles that filled in the spaces where I lost fat.

Since it is less than a month after your surgery just check with your surgeon's office about when you can start lifting.

Try to stay off the scale so you don't get bummed out about a pound here or there that is probably jus****er retention and body fluctuations.  If you're following your surgeon's nutrition plan and being active, you will lose weight.  You don't need a scale to tell you that you have.  You'll know that you have.

No reason to wait to go to the gym until you're below 200.  Go now and you'll see those 100's sooner than you would if you waited.
Celebrate your success by joining the gym.  Congrats!

Cathy
