MedPage Information re: diabetes II and WLS
Just found this very interesting research about Diabetes II and Cardiovascular Disease benefits from WLS:

I knew there was a good connection between these conditions and our WLS, and it's nice to be able to put a professional link to them.
If anyone ever has any qualms regarding the benefits of our surgeries, let this put them to rest.

It is just a 2.5 min video. Not long at all!
Thank you so much for posting it. It thought it was interesting and affirming.
Plus, I always love to see good things connected to my beautiful home state of Utah. :-)
My favourite part? The word REMISSION and not cure as some seem to believe.
I was NOT type II diabetic before my surgery but am one of the unlucky 2% who became diabetic at a normal weight post RNY. For some of us, diabetes is about genes, regardless of our weight! I have no doubt though, that my diabetes is easier managed because I live a predominantly healthy lifestyle and that it would be way worse if I had stayed MO for the last 10.5 years.
