Back in the hospital!!!

Hi everyone! Posted here more than a week ago. Listened to your wise advice then and thought I was doing better but started up with being nauseated and pain under my ribs and back. Especially left rib. I have been in the hospital for three days due to dehydration and pain. My PCP sent me here after I found out my surgeon is on vacation. He's supposed to be back Monday. I did have a CAT scan the last time I was in the ER more than a week ago. Is it possible the problem wont show up on a CAT scan?
I had a revision/repair on December 18th from the old vertical banded gastroplasty to an RNY due to hiatal hernia causing Barretts esophagus. I had pain and vomiting. Pretty much in the same boat after surgery. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Marlena

Hello All! I must have been really out of it! I don't remember posting this but I did. I was re-admitted with severe dehydration, sinus tachycardia, cramping and pain. I also had extreme pain under my two ribs and still do. The surgeon ordered a consult and I had an Endoscopy done. I had an esophageal stricture. I was stretched twice with a balloon device from 8mm to 11mm by a GI specialist. They send me home after a week. I was so weak. I blew off an appointment because no one was home to take me to my appointment. Tomorrow since I am feeling stronger I will take myself to see the GI doc whom previously told me I need atleast three more procedures which are done the hospital. I wont have one done tomorrow. just going tomorrow for check up. I'm going to insist some test be done to check my gallbladder because I know I saw a lot of yellow stones in the lue. If I'm not on pain meds, I can't function well. I have been on a clear liquid diet but every time I try full liquids shortly after running to the bathroom. I've looked into flushes but my daughter is recommending me to stay away since she says I could make it worse. I will get through this. I feel I have a good team behind me. I noticed the hospital Emory seems to be understaffed in the nursing department. I'm not sure the nurses wrote all my concerns down. Anyway, I am stepping up my advocacy for my health. I am in onderland...if that is what you call it but I know I am vitamin deficient. I just want to be healthy. I have to get better! My baby brother is getting married next month. Anyway, all I can say is you are your own best advocate. Dont be afraid to speak up! Don't be intimidated! Hugs all!
