Advice about surgery

Looking for someone in Winnipeg or southeast Manitoba who has had slimband surgery. $16,000 (or more?) is an incredible amount of money to spend but I'm starting to feel desperate for help to loose weight. I know there are many people out there that need to loose more then 100lbs. I would like to loose up to 80lbs. I've probably gained 20 lbs in the past 6 months and it's just going to get worse. I'm always so tired with no energy to exercise. Any advice appreciated.

BAnding is your worst option -- and self-pay banding is even worse.

Bands have the lowest success rate, even though there are some of use here who have them and have done well.  The majority need to be revised or replaced within a few years and the expected weight loss is less than many expect.

For 16,000 you can go out of country and self-pay for a much more reliable surgery.

VSG on 10/13/14

I know self pay patients here (in Louisiana) that spend less than that for VSG.  I haven't been banded but as stated before, there are a lot more negatives going around about banding. Good luck whatever you choose!
