Barium Swallow. YUM!
NOT! I hope I don't have to do the upper GI test ever again! The radiology tech warned me & she was right, but I knew to expect it and it wasn't the worst thing ever. I joked with the technicians that I have taken worse shots of tequila and kept it down :)
things are are finally starting to move along. It has been a bumpy road for me, with regards to my scheduling and communication issues with my surgeon's office, as well as with the sleep lab. I finally got a sleep study scheduled today with another hospital. I finally got a phone call from the first hospital today to schedule after leaving them a firm message yesterday. Itliterally has taken me a year to get them sleep lab to call me to schedule an appointment. However, they were too late. I made a phone call to the other hospital at 10 and had an appointment by 12, all in one day. Why didn't I do this sooooner?
i had my upper GI and my EKG.
Tomorrow I will get the bloodwork.
Jan 15 is the take home sleep study
Jan 18 my birthday
Jan 19 - Feb 3 Vacation! My last airplane ride with a seatbelt extender!
Feb 5 :my preop appt with the surgeon. We will set my surgery date at that time and I was told he only books out a week or two at a time!
i know I'm over sharing insignificance, but since I am keeping this process mostly private for now, I have very few people to vent to! Plus, we are all / have been in this same boat so I know you all can relate. This really is a great little community. I typically am not one to take part in forums of any kind, but I really can appreciate and I do enjoy this outlet.
Sending lots of positive vibes!

That won't be your first GI study. That is one of the first tests they order if you have problems.
