Frustrating setback.

I keep having irrational thoughts like, what if there's something wrong with my blood that causes a false positive for nicotine and it prevents me from ever having surgery. Or, what if I lose my surgery during that month and I miss out on my chance.

I know I'm being silly but I don't think I'll be able to relax until after I retest and get clean results. Scratch that, I won't be able to relax until I have surgery.

Is it the surgeon's office or your insurance that requires the drug test? If it's your surgeon I would look into finding a different one. Second hand smoke is everywhere. I wouldn't want to risk failing half way through or right before surgery. That's such a ridiculous requirement. If you have a history of non smoking and your primary doc clears you then that should be enough.

It's the insurance companies requirements.
