need surgeon to perform revision bypass to DS.
From what I have read in the past you can pretty much count on one hand the number of surgeons with a lot of experience doing an RNY to DS revision.
There are other surgeons who might say they can, but I wouldn't let them touch me. And then others who say they will, but give you a distal RNY, which is not the same thing at all.
Be careful, and listen to what people with experience have to say.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
It depends on why you need a revision and why the weight gain. If the original surgery failed, then your doctor can either fix the problem or send you to someone that can. Insurance will cover if it it's medically necessary. Tests will determine if you have a failure at the original surgical site. If the weight gain is not related to surgical failure then your doc or nut can help you with ways to get back on track, the surgery is a tool to help us lose the excess weight we can't lose on our own. Changing eating habits and lifestyle while incorporation exercise and healthier diet is the key to losing and keeping it off - no matter what the surgery was. CHeck with your doc as to options for you.
