Surgery didn't work

Donna-

I'd def ask for a work up from my Dr and keep a food diary of everything that touches my lips. It might be a matter of adjustment-or it might be soft stuff sliding. I know I've been guilty of that myself and then thinking....well crap, it isn't working. No-it just was me not doing what I needed to do.  Good luck.

Thank you for admitting that you sometimes slip up...I was starting to think I was the only one this happened to...I can't believe how mean and judgemental some people are on here...

Well....I'm human. I don't know about ol' tiger chilipepper. Sometimes our underwear are on too tight.

Take it with a grain of salt. If we were all as perfect as we'd like people to think we are-we probably wouldn't be on an Obesity Help forum...capisce?

yes exactly!  Oh and there's a little "block" button you can use - I've used it only once but it works :)  I no longer see his/her condescending rude posts.

The OP went off plan FIVE days into her post op diet. She has compliance issues. A hand pat and 'there, there, dear; we all make mistakes' is well nigh useless. If I ate off plan, I would much rather Chili blister my ass about it than pat my hand and cosign on my bull**** excuses. You may not like her delivery, but it comes from a place of experience and caring.

OP, your post reads as if you've given up on yourself. I doubt Dr. Pohl meant your surgery won't work for you. Stay on plan, log your food, drink your water, and know that you can be successful.

RosyKate-

I agree that a hand pat isn't needed but neither is being a complete ahole-like I said-if we were all perfect we sure wouldn't be on this site and it cracks me up that the "don't judge me post" on her signature line SCREAMS hypocrisy when you turn around and jump straight onto someone elses tail. If that is her idea of caring-then by all means-she can keep it. That precious angel needs decaf.

I've been here a little over three years and I've read a lot of these types of posts. I can't imagine how many Chili's read in the time she's been here. I don't think she was an 'a-hole' and I don't think she's a hypocrite either. She's telling the OP to straighten up and take charge of her actions. This is not the first post the OP has made about this type of thing. My frank opinion is that she has written her surgery off and told herself it won't work so why bother with correct eating.

It's pretty maddening to see people have an opportunity slide through their fingers because they will not do what they need to do.

Agreed. You can't just give up. You comply or you don't. We are ultimately responsible for our own actions. Period.

I've goofed plenty of times, life goes on. But "slipping" early on, when you've got your best possible chance at dropping weight AND you're setting up habits, is NOT something that should be OK.
