Surgery didn't work

"Pretty much stuck to the plan" can be worlds away from actually sticking to the plan!  Measure everything, don't test your pouch, right now you really need to focus on letting your stomach heal (and finding a therapist!) before you do anything drastic.

I'd ask your surgeon for a refund if he told you that it didn't work on you. Did he use those specific words?

Many people do not feel any restriction immediately after surgery.  Your stomach/pouch/whatever has undergone major changes.  Nerves have been severed.  Your body has to heal before it can function properly.

Your surgeon has a very good reputation on OH, so I'm surprised to hear that he's written you off so early in the process.

I don't think that he has written me off so soon..as I've been saying he said that its possible that the surgery didn't work..I guess only time will tell..I guess I just expected a little more..

Seriously? I am not a vet, but am 10 months out and cannot imagine a bariatric doc, esp. one who has been around for a while, saying this to a 2 week out patient. Did you have someone with you to advocate (listen to the doc) for you?

Your pouch is still healing and of course you don't feel much because the nerve ending are still traumatized.

Surgery does not work for those who eat around it.  It is not unheard of.

She has already failed her band by eating around it and this could fail also, but most likely it won't be the fault of the bypass. It will be her eating around it also. She testing it 2 weeks out.

You can give advice and support without being rude. No one cares or is interested in your negative comments. This person came for advice and support not to have whatever your misery is being taken out on her.

What kind of support are you expecting? "Oh don't worry, you'll be fine, eat whatever you like and don't freak out?"

OP has posted that she's already eaten around her surgery at least once. Anecdotal evidence from many posters here over the years shows that this is not a predictive indicator for success.
