Am I wrong to want to get the surgery done and over?
I don't think you are pushing too fast. I was in the same place this past fall. I started the process in September and started to jump through all the hoops. Luckily for me the insurer was very agreeable. Was given the green light in November.
First open surgery date was 12/23. Not happy to be in hospital over Christmas but like you I wanted to get things going. I knew next date available was early March, so I went with 12/23. The VSG surgery went with out a hitch I was up walking that afternoon and DR. released me Christmas morning. I know how you feel wanting to make things happen. I hope you can move along at a good rate and I hope you do well with the surgery!

I used my insurance, so I had to wait the 6 months, but as soon as I decided to talk to a surgeon, I was ready. I had thought about this for years, done a ton of research before I ever talked to him, and was ready to go. Waiting six months didn't change anything for me. Like you, I wanted to get it done with time to hit my own age milestone (I turn 40 in April). I'm only 15 pounds away from my doctor's goal, so there's no doubt I'm going to hit that.

150 lost and maintaining!
I think most everyone wants to do it as fast as possible. Even when I was losing super fast, I wanted the weight to be gone the day I had surgery. Giggle...my 10 year old daughter asked if I'd come out of surgery skinny! ;)
But doctor's offices have far out schedules and once insurance came through I still had a 6 week wait.
I don't think she was surprised you wanted surgery already.
