Any one had their surgery at tufts medical in Boston? Did theyou do a nicotine test at the pre op or the day of surgery?  If done at any hospital, what was your experience?

Having nicotene in your system is a major risk. Nicotene interferes with healing, and many surgeons will not perform surgery on someone if nicotene is in their system.

For your own safety, quit as quick as you can.

I was definitely tested before surgery. My surgeon will absolutely not operate if you are currently smoking. He requests no use for at least 6 months. I don't smoke so it was cool. I was tested before I was wheeled into surgery. They tested for nicotine and pregnancy.

If you do smoke, I hope you can quit before your surgery date. It will benefit you in the long run to be smoke free.
