I am scheduled to have bypass done on 1/26 and while i am really excited I am also a bit nervous :)  Any suggestions or pre-op advice out there?

Hi pattiwoodwv,

Congratulations on your surgery date!  It's normal to be scared. They had to pull my fingers off the door handle   My surgeon was really concerned I was going to change my mind. I didn't and it was the best decision I ever made!

Congrats! I would just say to follow the advice of your docs EXACTLY. You will have a better outcome and feel as best as is possible after surgery. I had RYN five months ago. They want your liver to shrink so follow their pre-op food plan. It will give them more room to do the surgery. I was very nervous but like others very glad I did it. The first month was tough - I think my expectations of getting back on my feet were unrealistic but then, it seemed between one day and the next things came together and I have been moving forward ever since. Good luck!
