What Grim says is right. When you leave a job, you have the option of continuing your coverage through COBRA. You pay the premium, and at the end of the COBRA period (not sure how long it is) you can continue the coverage as a self-pay. So look into that before you make the decision to go to Mexico. It should be a lot cheaper. Talk to someone in Human Resources.
Good luck to you.
Good luck!

Yes, you could continue your insurance with Cobra...but you still have the waiting game and hoops to jump through. I would weigh the costs of the premiums with cobra and whatever out of pocket expenses you will incur using the insurance...co-pays, deductibles, etc. as compared to self paying in Mexico.
i just had my VSG to DS with partial re-sleeve revision in Mexico and it was a great experience. Super smooth and easy.
My insurance doesn't cover WLS at all...so that's exactly how I looked at it...an investment in my health. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Good luck!

They are supposed to offer you Cobra insurance. I would use that instead of my 401k but I admire your determination!! Good luck in your journey!
