With the start of the New Year many of us are refocusing on health, but with cold temperatures, ice and snow the weather can often interfere with exercise plans.

How do you stay active during the winter months? Do you brave the cold temps to exercise outdoors? Do you have a favorite workout DVD or YouTube channel for at home exercise? Share your tips with others!

*We will turn this topic into a blog post with some of your helpful tips to further help the OH Community on their journey. Please note that ObesityHelp Blog posts are shared via social media.

Actually....lol...I just recently (past year) learned that vibration and rebounding is thought to be good for lipedema and lymphedema, the shaking helps with lymph flow...only problem is most vibration plates and rebounders have a weight capacity under my current weight.

I Walk down Each and Every Isle in the Grocery store, which is about once a week. If I need only one item I still walk down every Isle. Sometimes 2 or 3 times too. Been to the Mall also got my boyfriend walking with me also. I stick to walking for now as I cant do much else because of my Hernia. Stayin Warm and getting my Exercise on..:) Peace and Happy New Year...Wendy

Excellent point! I actually know a group of people locally who walk laps in our Kroger, I was waiting in line at the Starbucks near the front of the store and noticed 3-4 people people no cart no basket walk by 2x while I was in line and the barista confirmed they come in just to walk, there is no indoor mall in our area...so Kroger is the next best indoor flat place walk. I know some malls actually have walking groups and pace out mile markers on their mall directories!

If you live in CA you don't have to worry about it  Oh wait, it did snow in Temecula the other day, right?

When I lived in IL I joined the YMCA down the road and enjoyed the classes, like Zumba.  Believe it or not I loved swimming.  I made sure I had a warm hat before I went home.  If it was really bad out I didn't like driving and used Zumba DVD's, my exercise bike and the on Demand TV workouts.

I sometimes go to Costco or a Home Depot/Lowes and load up a cart and pu**** around for 20 minutes or so, than unload it and buy what I need.

This cart of soda is near 1000lbs. I get upper body buy loading and unloading and cardio by pushing it around...... eat a few samples and I'm good !
