Options for payment when insurance won't cover? Medical load, etc?

I used a company called Med Loan Finance.  The process was very easy and fast but I was under the impression that I was applying for a loan but instead received two credit cards!  Those credit cards did the trick but I could have applied for them myself without paying the middle man almost $2000 (10% of the total amount I applied for).  I blame myself for not reading the fine print more carefully, of course, but it is something to keep in mind if you consider this company.

Well I checked with my works insurance and that wls is excluded there so another option is out.

My best friend offered to lend me the money and then pay her back without interest but I really don't know if I want that to be an option as that much money between friends does not seem like a good idea to me.

So I'm thinking either a loan through my bank or credit cards seem to be the last option, it will take me some time to gather info about the bank loan though.

I appreciate the help!

While you're in the researching stage, you should also consider going outside the US for your WLS. IF you research well, set your standards high, and focus on good results more than on price, you can often save a LOT of money by going to Mexico, Brazil, Spain, etc.

Choose your surgery TYPE first, then search out highly experienced surgeons who do the procedure YOU want. (One big advantage of being self-pay is that NO ONE---well, no one *****ally matters!---will be trying to tell you "You may have this, but not that" when you're deciding which form of WLS is best for YOU.)

I have used Care Credit, but for much smaller medical bills. I think their interest rate is high. You should research Mexico as well as surgeons and hospitals  who have flat rate plans. If it isn't flat rate you just don't know what it could end up being.

I'm not so sure about care credit because of the interest rates. I would consider Mexico but DH is so not on board with that. He's totally supportive about everything but not with going to a different country. I had breast cancer and my reconstruction was expensive as well and I traveled out of state for that and had to take off 6 weeks of work fory recovery and he was 100% supportive. So I don't want to push him on the Mexico thing since he's so against it.

I I will check with the place I'm going for the info session re: flat fees. There are only a few within reasonable distances from me and I need to consider the time off I'd need for regular appointments too. Hopefully one of them does a flat fee!
