Three Weeks in Tokyo!
Just got back from a three week trip to Tokyo to visit my son, his wife and my brand new grandaughter. I was a little worried about the changes in food that I would find while I was on my trip. I took some protein oatmeal and protein bars with me just in case. I am happy to report that I had no trouble with the food and was able to get in lots of protein from all the seafood. We went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant that was so much fun. I had eel, octopus, shrimp, scallops, squid and various other types of fish. The Japanese definately love their rice and it was served pretty much at every meal but I was happy with one or two bites and the rest was protein. I discovered some wonderful tofu dishes and want to incorporate tofu in my diet this year. I didn't know it could be so delicious. I even beought home a couple of mixes for tofu dishes.
I can't say that I was very active because it was very cold and we had a newborn to think about but I am happy to report a 3 lb. weight loss while there. It might be a first for me, to actually lose weight while on vacation.
I am 7 pounds away from my personal goal. My surgeon's goal was 190 but I am happy to say that I have surpassed his goal!
