Happy New Year Everyone! Name AT LEAST ONE Thing You Are Determined to Change in...

Happy 2015 to everyone!  I hope that 2014 was a great learning experience for us all, and we take that knowledge and apply it consistently and continue to learn more about being healthy and having a good level of well-being in the years to come.  I think sometimes we have this huge list of resolutions that we want to make at the start of a new year, and there are so many, and so hard to attain, that we get beaten down by March and quit most of them.  That's why I'm thinking small.  I'm going to think of maybe 3 things that I am absolutely determined to change this year about myself.  Here they are (in no specific order):

1.  Work out at least 4 times every week for 2 hours each session.  This is a bare minimum, to allow for my kids' sports and busy moments.  See...I'm picking something doable, but in my mind I expect probably 5 times per week for most weeks.

2.  Eat a high-protein, high-iron, low carb diet on a consistent basis.  I am anemic and I have found that since I have been mixing the plant and meat-based proteins more into my meals, along with taking liquid iron, it's getting better.

3.  Renew my teacher's license...it expires in June, so I have to fill out the paperwork and all that good stuff, mail it into the state board of ed., and wait.  I should start working on this asap!!!

Anyways, these are the 3 things I really am determined to do this year.  They are perfectly attainable, and I am free to go above and beyond them if possible...but they are my base.  What about you?

Thankfully I've got access to a limited release theater, so that helps :)  Two years ago I saw 100 movies in the theater and, yeah, especially in February there are some suboptimal ones.  Fun.. but nothing that anyone would talk about a year later.

In 2014 I saw 55 movies in the theater :D  (My partner is a movie-lover.)

55? wow, that is awesome. especially the way many just use netflix and w/e these days. the limited release stuff is probably better many times. i used to go to the movies more but for some reason just tapered off over the years. i think i am in that "streaming / downloading" mode the last several years.

you'd be great reviewing on rotten tomatoes or blogging it somewhere. weekly reviews and what not. and 52 books is also quite a goal. i've read maybe 200 books my whole life. and i'm pretty old!

My partner really loves the "theater experience" and having to focus on the movie without the distractions of home.  Which I understand :)  And since he's paying, I don't mind so much, hehe.

I blog for my VSG and had an active food blog for years.. but blogging is so time consuming!  I'd rather have that time to read and watch more movies.
