I have found that it's more important to find a therapist with whom I click than a therapist who specializes in disordered eating.  I'd suggest that you keep trying to find a therapist you click with.

VSG with Dr. Salameh - 3/13/2014
Diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder and started Vyvanse - 7/22/2016
Reconstructive Surgeries with Dr. Michaels - 6/5/2017 (LBL & brachioplasty), 8/14/2017 (UBL & mastopexy), 11/6/2017 (medial leg lift)

Age 42 Height 5'4" HW 319 (1/3/2014) SW 293 (3/13/2014) CW 149 (7/16/2017)
Next Goal 145 - normal BMI | Total Weight Lost 170

Yes, you are wrong in thinking that most who have success have it because of dumping and getting full early.

People who are successful follow their surgeons orders, adhere to their pre and post op instructions and just 'suck it up' when they are sick of what they are allowed to eat.

If this post is for real, please get some therapy to help you cope with your food issues.

If this post is fake, please get some therapy to help you get a life.

Kath,

I don't know if the hamburger person is real or not, but you said it correctly:

adhere to their pre and post op instructions and just 'suck it up' when they are sick of what they are allowed to eat.

I am a week out, and for the first time I whined last night that I wanted real food.  I had some water and went to bed.  My theme is that line from Memories from Cats (and I mustn't give in).  I have 3-4 more weeks of a sucking it up on a very restricted diet of mostly protein shakes. Thanks for the straight scoop.

Thanks.

Hang in there, Sharon!

i found that a few drops of picante sauce in my chicken soup made it more savory and easier to eat.

I added a little decaf coffee to my chocolate protein shake to make it less sweet.

The post op plan can be boring and mundane, but it is a blink of time ....... Stay focused on the big picture!!

The difference was staying away from the pickle. You can hurt yourself trying to eat the pickle this soon after surgery.
