liquid diet at Christmas
I need some encouragement! I started my pre-op liquid diet yesterday. I think I'm going out of my mind with sugar withdrawal, & next week is Christmas. I have 4 different parties this week alone, not to mention Christmas Eve & Christmas day. I plan to take my shake with me, & I keep reminding myself that it will be worth it. But wow...these next 2 weeks will be so unbelievably hard!
Any recommendations to make this easier? I have a liquid meal package from the surgeon & clearance to eat sugar free jello. Other than that, I'm stuck. & cooking for my husband & little girls has been torture!
I started my liquid diet dec24 last year. Just work it and know it is worth it.... It is just food. It. Is always there and you'll be able to eat what you choose to eat in the future

My surgery was on New Year's Eve last year. My pre-op was over Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was tough, but it gets a lot easier as you go along. I don't know if you are allowed broth. I was. Something that really helped me was Campballs Chicken Tortilla broth that comes in a cardboard box. I needed something savory. This broth made me feel like I had eaten something real.
No matter what, rest assured that you can do this. As a pp stated, it's just food.

One good thing about it is that when you get through Xmas pre-op -- you KNOW you can handle anything.

Do people know you are having surgery? I told everyone, so they were all supportive of me before and after surgery, when you eat so little.
Eyes on the prize, I guess. You can do it!
