Not lossing any weight for the past 2 months
Let me know if this is normal. I had my surgery on May 6 2014 starting weight was 260lbs and now I weight 198lbs. I have stalled for the past 2 months. I have hypo thyroid and POS which I wonder if that causes the weight loss to stall. Or is it because I have started eating carbs? my calories are about 1,000- 1,200. I am planning to start a 21 day no carb diet in January and I hope that that will restart the weight loss. I would love to hear from you if anyone else has experienced this.
If you have gone two months with no loss, you are in maintenance. Track your calories closely, and you'll have to reduce them to lose.

I've always thought during the weight loss phase you want to keep the calories between 600-800, and once you want to maintain your weight you increase calories.. I think the 1000 - 1200 is more of a maintenance number.
when I was where you are at now I could only eat like 700- 800 cal a day. I would stay away from carbs. The first year is the most important to retrain you eating habits so you don't put the weight back on. I am over 10 years out and have keep my weight off and many of my friends have gained it back.
I would have stalled out too at 1000-1200 calories a day. And are you tracking them carefully? Because if you're estimating then you're actually probably eating more than that. And yes, allowing those sneaky carbs back in will put you right into maintenance.
Go back to what worked in the past. A no-carb diet isn't reasonable and why would want to "diet" anyway? We had the surgery so we wouldn't have to do that. Cut back to 900 calories a day, track every single bite, keep your carbs to 40 grams per day or less and you'll start dropping weight again like a bad habit

I have PCOS, too. I have lost 171 lbs since January of last year (11.5 months) by eating less than 800 calories and no more than 40 naturally occurring carbs per day. Why wait until January to cut out the carbs? You are still in your honeymoon period. Carbs and calories will be waiting for you at goal and whenever you want to stop losing again. :-)

I doubt it is because of your thyroid and PCOS. It is likely because you have let your portions creep and you have added in carbs. Why wait until January? That is diet mentality. This isn't a diet. This is a lifestyle. You don't have to go no-carb, but you should be eating your protein first, then veggies, then complex carbohydrates if you still have room.
