I will really like receiving the weekly email of my steps and activity.  Your info makes me want one even more now.  Thanks!

I'm thinking of asking for a Fitbit as a Christmas gift.  I received one last year and liked it but got a bumpy rash so quit wearing it.  A few weeks later they did a recall of that style.

If you have one, do you like it?  Is it motivating?

I have had a Fitbit for close to three years. My husband and I have the Fitbit One. We love it because we have two flights of stairs in our home and I also have stairs at work. We had a prior model that is not made anymore that also calculated stairs and steps. Both have been a big motivator for both of us. We both love to walk. I do a lot of walking with my work (to/from work and in my building). My husband and is retired and I still work full time. I live 1/2 mile from work and that adds to the over all steps of my day. I have a desk job but I am up and down at all times during the day.

Our unit is has a clip for the belt or waist band and it can be worn elsewhere on the body or clothing. We ended up calculating our strides and found that we took smaller steps than what Fitbit had as a norm so we think that we have more accurate steps than Fitbit averaged for a person of our age. With all the walking you do, that's great!  I'm looking forward to having a Fitbit.

I have the Fitbit that was recalled.  I did occasionally get the rash, but to stop that from happening, I have put a bandaid onto the fitbit itself.  The only time I take mine off is to charge it and then I change out the bandaid.  I like to see how close each day I can get to my goal also.  I love the fact that mine has the digital function so I no longer have to wear a watch on that wrist.  It works as double duty for me.  Good luck with whichever one you choose.

Good idea about the band-aid.  I am pretty sure my husband purchased the Fit*****arge for me and I think I'm really going to like it.

I also have the Fitbit One. It's the greatest thing ever invented. I don't care for any of the models you wear on your wrist.

Great motivator.

I have wondered about the accuracy of the ones worn on the wrist.  When I get it, I'll see.  Glad to hear about the Fitbit One and the motivation.  That's what I'm wanting.

I have a Withings Pulse.  It is motivating for me.  It tracks steps, sleep, heart rate, oxygen level, distance, elevation, and calories burned.  There is also a scale and blood pressure cuff that it syncs with.

Wow, yours tracks everything!  I'll keep that in mind if they recall my new Fitbit again (lol).

I currently have the fitbit flex and it is good, but like some others the band did not stay on after a while. I am looking to getting the newer one next year.  I like the tracking of the sleep as well as movement and that it will link to myfitnesspal.
