Feeling nauseous continually
Had a gastric sleeve done on 24 November. Finished my clear fluid stage with only a bit of problem with acid reflux. Almost done my full fluid stage and for the last couple of days I feel nauseous from the time I get up to the time I go to bed. I am also having trouble getting in full amount of fluids. I have tried hot, warm, flavored, cold ... etc. Any possible way that one can have fluids I have tried it. Have a constant feeling in the back of my throat that I'm going to vomit. Any suggestions anyone???
Liquids you just have to do the best you can. My dietician and doc, esp. in the beginning were OK with total liquids. So soup, your shakes etc. could be counted. I find the premier protein drink the ready made one, easier to get down sometimes because it's a thin liquid, like chocolate mil**** tea? hot tea and coffee?
I had nausea in the beginning and on and off for about two months. My lifesaver - believe it or not were peppermint tic tacs. I carried them everywhere. I would bite them and let them melt in my mouth. I didn't swallow them. Also had heard probiotics can help, so I bought chewable ones at the Vitamin Shoppe. Good Luck!

Bless ya heart. Nothing like nausea. I remember feeling that way sometimes and anything you can do to get liquids in will help. Try sugar free popcicles or sf jello. I don't know much about your procedure you had but gotta get liquids and protein in the best way you can...

It sounds like your body is expressing its displeasure of you neglecting it.
Nausea and fatigue are two key symptoms of dehydration. You know now that your body doesn't accept excuses well. I know its hard but 64oz is your minimum goal. I get that before lunch.

Your doctor can give you something that will help with the nausea and then it will be easier for you to start progressing. Call them tomorrow
You have to get your fluids in.

This sounds similar to what I dealt with post surgery. I became very dehydrated and by 3 weeks I always felt like I was going to vomit (and did). My Dr. sent me back to the hospital for IV fluids. That allowed me to get over the hump of feeling so nauseous. It still took me a bit to hit my daily fluid goals but I was able to get a whole lot closer and make progress every day. Around 5 weeks I finally started to feel sort of human again. My recommendation would be to call your doctor and see if he/she thinks you could benefit from IV fluids.
thanks for everyones comments. While I'm not a tea drinker I found a Celestial Tea mix called Tummy Mint that seems to help. Once I choked down a cup of tea everything seemed to settle down and I found popsicles and flavored water went down much easier. Still have a trace of nausea today but much improved.
